If you are currently singing in your High School choir, or
if you did more years ago than you care to remember, come join us. Perhaps in the past you have sung in
a church choir or community chorus, come join us. Maybe you play an instrument and have always wondered
what it would be like to sing in a choir, come join us. Perhaps you are considering, or are currently pursuing,
a career in music and would like to gain a good background in choral music, as well as improve your sight-reading skills,
come join us. Maybe you have never sung in a choir and just want to try it out, come join us.
No audition is required for joining
the choir. And while it is not even necessary that you read music, it will make it easier to learn the
music if you can. We sing primarily traditional and classical choral literature at two Sunday services
each month.
Our choir director, Mr. Ron Sautter,
has a choral music degree from Central Michigan University, and has been singing in choirs since the third grade.
He held his first Choral Director position at the age of eighteen, and has performed many major choral works as a soloist
in Europe, Australia, and America.
Except for
actual holidays, the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings, from September through May, at 7:30 PM in the main sanctuary building
at the North end of the campus. If you would like to try it out, just show up ten minutes before the 7:30
rehearsal to pick up a copy of the music.
A
note from our director: The choir is a very important part of the worship life of this Congregation.
It is an awesome responsibility to assist people in their worship of the Almighty God, and one that we must never take
lightly. We sing for His glory and not our own. I invite you to come and sing with us
for a few weeks to check us out. If you decide to join us on a permanent basis, all I ask is that you take
the time commitment seriously, by regularly attending Thursday rehearsals, and singing at the scheduled services. I hope you will consider joining us in this important endeavor.
In His service,Ron Sautter
